Περιγραφή Προγράμματος

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Systems play a crucial role in all aspects of modern life and influence the performance of all service sectors. The course will appeal to graduates who wish to pursue a career in a range of ICT related industries such as Communications, Informatics, Health Informatics, ICT for Sustainable Growth etc in the public and private sectors.

The following streams within the postgraduate programme represent today’s technological progress in business & society:

  • Information Systems Management
  • Communication Systems Management
  • Health Information Systems
  • Information Systems for Sustainable Growth

Programme Structure:                                           

The Programme consists of four core courses, two *required specialised courses and three elective courses within four streams. You are also required to complete a master’s dissertation. **The elective courses are available from a selection of subjects. They provide you with the opportunity to acquire in-depth knowledge within a specific subject area. The core courses help you to develop strong interdisciplinary technological, managerial and legal knowledge.

*Streams will be realised depending upon student demand
** Some of the elective courses may not be offered in a particular year, depending entirely on student demand. The same course may be offered in a two-year part-time study mode.

The Timetable

The course is a 12 month full-time programme of study.

1. Core Courses: These Courses are required for all four streams of specialisation

  • Introduction to  ICT Systems
  • ICT Management
  • Decision Support Systems
  • Web Information Systems

2. The Required & Elective Courses

The Required courses for each stream must be followed as below. The Electives modules represent a rich variety of subject areas. Some are shared between the four different streams of the postgraduate programme. You may choose two elective courses from those displayed for each stream.

Information Systems Management Stream
Required Courses for stream:

Communication Systems Management Stream

  • Marketing and Strategies for Telecommunication companies
  • ICT Law and Regulation

Health & Information Systems Stream
Required Courses for stream:

  • E-Health and Telecare
  • Clinical Information Systems

Electives:

  • Data Protection
  • Medical Imaging
  • Consumer Health Information Systems
  • Database Management Systems
  • Ubiquitous Computing
  • ICT Law and Regulation

Information Systems for Sustainable Growth Stream
Required Courses for stream:

  • Sensor Networks
  • Crisis and Disaster Management, Policies & Forecasting

Electives:

  • Environmental Monitoring
  • Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing
  • Information Systems for Public Safety and Security
  • Information Systems for Efficient Energy Management
  • Ubiquitous Computing
  • ICT Law and Regulation

3. Master dissertation:

As a part of the MSc programme, students work on a 3-month project relating to their academic interests and career aspirations. The Masters dissertation provides a good opportunity to apply theory and concepts learned in different courses to a real-world technological environment.

Κριτήρια Εισαγωγής

To consider your application* for the IHU Masters you need:
  • a good science or engineering university degree (certified copy and transcript) from a recognised University
  • a good IELTS or TOEFL score or a Certificate of Proficiency for graduates from non-English-speaking universities
  • two academic references (both referees should have direct knowledge of your suitability for the specific Master programme)

A personal interview may be required.
